My Film Job

The job that I would like to take part in my production company would have to be the job of the producer or the casting director.  I would like to be a producer in order to make sure that everyone is doing their job properly and is able to bring out the best in their abilities and create a film that would be well presentable.  I would not like to be the boss of everyone that is in my production company, but rather a person who oversees all the simple work, and look at all the underlying context of everyone’s individualistic work.  I will make sure everyone has greed upon the idea, the script, as well as the whole production setting. I want everyone to be able to agree on every idea in the production company rather than I have the final say so. If it does come down to that, I would be more than happy to give the final word. I would also like to be a casting director, because I would like to choose specific people for specific acting roles, and see how each person fits directly into that role. I want to be the one to choose the right person for the job, and know that; the person would be able to perform to the best for their abilities for that specific acting role. If the actors do not fit, then the movie will not run as smooth as planned on the screenplay.

My Review of The Elephant Man

The Elephant man was a very interesting, disturbing, and uplifting movie in many different ways. In each one of the distinctive categories the director David Lynch was able to take his own thoughts, twist them all around and create the movie The Elephant Man. The Director was able to tie into the movie what he believed, we as human beings are doing to the mother earth. The theme that Lynch is conveying in the film is that we are not only hurting her, but also “raping” mother earth without any remorse. The outcome of this tragedy is men, of disfigured forms, because if we are treating our home as normal as possible, we do not deserve to be normal. The fact that David Lynch is able tie in his beliefs within a film that is based on true events is astonishing. This theme, and I guess you can say the director really got me thinking, the fact that this movie was released in 1980; and people today can see no changes have been made but rather “deformities” of our mother earth. The disturbing part of the whole film, is the fact that people can be really “disgusting” in the way we treat on another. The fact that we would treat another human being differently just because of appearance, horrifies me. John Merrick was not a creature nor an animal at all, but rather a kind hearted, sincere, gentleman. Another theme I think Lynch may have created is that, we need to stop seeing the outside layer of all individuals, objects, and topics. We need to start looking and understanding the underlying context of everything and take into consideration of what everything in the world really stands for. We need to stop sugarcoating evidence, and reveal the truth beneath it all. This is my review and take on David Lynch's The Elephant Man, I guess we are all Elephant men in some way or form.

My Name is John Merrick...

Today is yet another day in the life of a carnie, I am constantly getting showed off by me “caretaker” Mr. Bytes, I am actually quite tired of this job, I always stay up at night thinking to myself when will the day come to where people will not view me with disgust but rather in the sense of praise. Bytes is always mistreating me, there is never a day that goes by that he is not drinking and abusing me, the only nice person around would have to be the little boy, Bytes’ assistant. I want to have that one day where I can be shown to the world and go about life with a sense of security rather than a sense of insecurity. I heard Bytes actually talking to this man; I believe his name was Treves or something of that sense. I think he was a Doctor, if he is a Doctor I sure hope, the hospital can cure me or take better care of me then Bytes. I am now wondering, if this man is a doctor, will he invite me to the hospital, give me my own room, and feed me all the time. I hardly ever get fed with Bytes’ I do not know when the last time was I seen a decent meal. I am so lonely in this “cave” I want friends; I want sincere people that I can call acquaintances. My life has been tragedy since birth, with my mother gone, I wonder if she ever thinks of me the way I think of her. I constantly carry her picture with me, every time I look at it I always get uplifted with happiness, I guess you can say she is the only one that can give me strength. Well I have to go to sleep now, I can never get quite comfortable when I sleep, I am always tired I can never sleep like normal people. I want to see what tomorrow will bring me when I see this man named Treves.

Welcome to my Nightmare bwa ha ha ha ha ha!

I once had a nightmare that involved one of my greatest fears; the character of the Halloween Movies, Michael Myers, this nightmare was like nothing I have ever dwelled upon in my entire life. It was an ordinary day, and my family and I were coincidently out on Halloween night having fun and getting candy like all normal children love doing “trick o treating” as they call it. Me and my family were out on this one street, getting candy, and I approached this rather terrifying yet unique woman dressed up as a witch, and as I was done receiving candy from her, walking down the street was the man, of all my fears, Mr. Michael Myers. This man was dressed in the exact same costume, and roaming down the middle of the street by himself with no one else in sight, but the kids on the sidewalks and the people outside there houses. My heart began to race, and sweat began to drip down my face, I was only about 6 or 7 at this time I did not know what true fear was until this exact moment. I ran for dear life by myself around the corner I fell to the ground, and in agony I curled up into a ball and began rocking back and forth. My parents found me like this, as I was crying, and to this day I am too afraid to go trick o treating. I will always have that constant fear of knowing someone will be dressed in that such costume and this sense of fear will rise inside me once again. I still have not gotten over this fear and I do not know if I ever will.

Compassionate Science

Compassionate Science to me, is defined as the characteristics it takes and the will to help an individual or individuals through the ways of technology or science in general. To me I think the benefits of the technological cycle can help the cycle of human life in many different regards. I would like to be a software engineer and study computer science when I further my studies into college. Through my studies I hope to be helpful to many different people in the world that need a hand or simply knowledge on the use of computers.  Not everyone in the world is grateful enough to have the technology we have in the United Sates, many different countries may not even have a basic definition of what technology is. When I become knowledgeable enough in the field of computers and software, I would like to use my studies to teach, young and perseverant individuals in third world countries who would like to know what technology is and how to use it. Many different kinds of software can be designed every single day, why can't I design a software in which teaches kids in the third world countries how to use, practice, and tackle technology at first hand. This is how I would like to benefit society through compassionate science.

The Future

In the future, people will begin to evolve into the more technological era. Robots will begin to do everyday jobs, and we will not have to do anything for ourselves any more. This will lead to many more people relying on robots rather than there own selves. Leading to maybe obesity of many and overweight individuals. Phones will be implanted into our heads and we will just have to think in order to call or simply use our phones in general. Money will no longer be of use, and we will have chips implanted inside of us, and as we scan ourselves at each retail store/or restaurant our currency will diminish and our banks will get the notifications of money being used. People will probably be turned into cyborgs , in which we will be half robot and have man, we will have the ability to do superhuman things such as, fly off our jet packs of feet, be able to smash through anything in our way, do every day things in lightning motion, and have the ability to learn anything with rapid speed. The world’s population will increase, the need for food and many other necessities will decrease leading to war, in many different regions of the world. Pollution will increase, if measures on the environment are not taken carefully. Even though, we will have these many advantages, the disadvantages of the future will lead to war, famine, and rebellion of individuals towards the government in one way or another.

One Time I Laughed Really, Really Hard

One time my friend Hussein and I were in Spanish class and we were both studying for a test that was coming up the same day, we were both studying in our books and my friend Hussein decides to take out a calculator. I had no idea what he was doing with a calculator in Spanish class, so I turned around and I decided to question it, he decided to carry on using his calculator, he then looked up at me and I asked him, “What are you doing with a calculator? This is Spanish class bro!” I started to laugh, and in that moment I decided to drink water, I was laughing so hard that I started to choke, and in that moment of near death I decided to laugh more, and I spat up all of the water into my Spanish book, and at that moment I decided to laugh more. My friend Hussein decided to laugh at me, rather than help me from choking, this had me laughing more and I was at a non-stop laugh attack. This was the time in which I experienced a near death experience as well as a laugh attack that was non-stop.

Movie Review of Modern Times

Modern Times in review was a sensational movie in its own part; Chaplin the director is able to take many twists and turns to get a broad perspective of the “Modern Times” and give it a light to the viewers who watch the movie. Chaplin is able to show how tough present times are one in the same with modern futuristic times. Chaplin is able to go in depth and give detail on how harsh the factory life, as well as every day life can be. The movie is able to capture and take its course to have an overview of how everyday life really is and does not sugarcoat one bit of it. The director is able to show how crazy a factory worker can get when working in the same factory for too long, and how tough real life can be when there is no work, and how one must survive out in the real world. Chaplin is able to mix comedy with realism and give the viewers a sense of humor, while also giving them a sense of the real world. The theme that I took from this such film was that no matter how hard one thinks life is, another hardship will take its place and make life even harder, but at the end of it all, one must keep on smiling and move one, in the end the light will come sooner rather than later.

Thoughts on Bullying

Why do people bully? Is it for the great power that they feel after such event is done, or is because they were once bullied and that such person gets a kick out of seeing others in pain. There are many different reasons behind the topic of bullying and why it takes place. I recently had a witnessing experience about 3 weeks ago, me and my friend were at Veterans park, and we saw a guy picking on another kid, the reason for this was that the “bully” got mad at the kid for not passing him the ball enough during a game both individuals had recently played. The “bully” started degrading the kid by calling him names, knocking his water bottle out of his hands, and pushing him around. My friends Hussein, was tired of seeing such event taking place in front of his eyes, my friend stood up to the bully, and asked him to leave the victim alone. The “bully” told my friend, “this is none of your business”, my friend Hussein went on to push the “bully” and both individuals started fighting, my friend Hussein punched the “bully” about 3 times, and that is when I went to break up the fight. The victim applauded us for helping him out and standing up for him. I believe I could have done more in stopping such event, but being caught up in the heat of the moment and had never seen such bullying partake in front of my eyes. After this event has taken course in my life, I now know have a clue of how bullying is taken place, and need to find another ay to solve such events, besides violence.

My Favorite Movie

My favorite movie along with the series would have to be the series titled Death Wish, this movie series is based around one man trying to find and kill a string of gang members around his community and murder them, for tormenting and flipping his life around. This man poses as a vigilante in every one of the films. This string of movies would have to be my favorite ones because the films have different scenery in every film. The filmmakers were able to mix in action with a subtlety of Mystery and Suspense. Another reason on why this string of movies caught my attention would have to be, the individual ways in which the vigilante Charles Bronson acts in killing each gang member. The filmmakers do an excellent job in not repeating the same way of killing on each gang member. A third reason in why I like these films would have to be how the vigilante is able to get revenge and seek vengeance on his own rather than from the “help” of the police. While the police are sitting around trying to find the gang members, this vigilante is able to take justice into his own hands.
